Expectations of our Guild Members
Your fellow guild members are playing WOW for different reasons. Some people are raiding, some are chasing achievements, others are here for a purely social gaming experience. One thing we all have in common is that we all play to enjoy the game. We have never wanted to create a full list of do’/don’ts however we have listed some of the main things we expect from guild members below. In a concept: Don’t impact on anyone’s enjoyment of the game.
- Enjoy your time in Quality Obsession.
We are an active guild, regularly rep grinding, running dungeons, levelling new characters, achievement spamming, PVP’ing, running Old school raids and all other manner of activities.
We don’t expect you to do everything with guild members, however you will get a much better experience of your time with Quality Obsession if you are involved with your guildies and guild events.
- Treat your guildies how you would expect them to treat you.
Do not put down, harass or belittle your guildies. We are always happy to have a laugh and make jokes (usually at our own expense) but people are not paying and playing to be harassed or bad mouthed.
If you have any advice to a guild member, make it constructive criticism.
- No spamming of guild chat and No constant trolling of trade.
While we are not 3000 or Blasphemy, being a part of Quality Obsession means you are wearing a tag whilst you are playing. We don’t want our guild to get a bad name because of the actions of a single member.
- Vent Conduct
Many thanks to Dave for providing us with a 50 slot vent server. The vent system is there for you to use at your convenience. We would prefer that guildies utilise this for themselves (and if appropriate for selected friends).
Be aware of who is on vent and if your conversation may be taken as inappropriate, please move to another channel with whoever you are talking with. An example of some topics included in this warning are: Sexist comments, Racist Comments, Religious rantings (for or against) and of course any conversations on your Guild Masters raiding stuff ups… >_>
Also, some people may be on vent in other channels. It is an expected courtesy that you either check with these people in game or via a vent comment before you join them.
- Use your guildies, but use your head
Quality Obsession guildies are usually more than happy to help with in game time, technical issues, relationship advice and even duet backing for singing on vent.
However, if people are not able to help you or you are constantly asking for help/questions, we would expect you stand on your own 2 gaming feet. WOWhead is just like having Toa on hand to ask questions to on anything.
Your guildies may be able to provide you with items or crafting materials as well, be up front and try to return the favour. At the very least offer to pay for what they are making, more often than not you will find that people are just happy to help you out.
- The Officers words are final.
Dave, Brady and I have put a lot of time and a large amount of money into providing a stable and friendly set up for you to enjoy in Quality Obsession. We believe that we hold a light handle on the reins of the guild but meet weekly/fortnightly to ensure that all of our wheels are running in the same direction.
If an Officer requests you to do something or asks you to do something, we would expect you to comply where possible. Unless it’s me asking for private photos to come to my mobile… that would be a trap.
If you have any issues or suggestions, we are always happy to chat about them with you.
Many Regards and see you in game!
- Arne, Dave and Brady
